Thank you so much for your interest in the Florida Park Service Ranger Association. I am honored and humbled to serve as President of this amazing organization. We are committed to our values of service, family, and traditions. I was fortunate to have had an awesome 34 ½ year career, starting as a Marine Captain and working my way through promotional opportunities and retiring as Bureau Chief of District I.
This website is an excellent resource to explore events past and future. There are rendezvous, work days, Family Fun Days, and our Annual Meeting which includes an auction that is always entertaining. We are a family-oriented organization, so all are welcome. There is bound to be an event that will be of interest to you, and hopefully, it will be within a distance that allows for your participation.
Our commitment is evident by volunteering at parks throughout the state, or providing financial assistance to Florida Park Service employees when they are in need. Our dedication doesn’t waiver as we maintain the tradition of interpretation, preserving and protecting the resources, both natural and cultural.
There are many opportunities for contribution, either monetarily or by submitting nominations for “Park Ranger of the Year”, “Carlos Maxwell Award”, or “Joe Knoll Award”. You can also nominate someone in need financially with the “James Cook Humanitarian Relief Fund”, if they are encountering an unexpected hardship.
I am proud to work with such a dedicated Board of Directors as we navigate providing service to our amazing State Parks, and most importantly, support to the Florida Park Service Family. I look forward to seeing you at a future event.
Your President, Warren Poplin
