World Ranger Day - July 31

On World Ranger Day, we honor the critical role rangers play in preserving life on Earth. Their dedication and passion for conservation prevent species from going extinct and keep ecosystems from further degradation. Rangers often risk their lives to ensure we have fresh air, clean water, and a healthy planet.

The International Ranger Federation (IRF) honors these tireless protectors annually. Since last World Ranger Day, at least 140 rangers have died in the line of duty, with the majority of deaths in Asia and Africa. Homicides and animal encounters are the leading causes, underscoring the dangers they face.

On this day, we acknowledge the sacrifices and invaluable contributions of rangers and drive change to make their job safer and more effective through increased global support.
