SERVICE

    August 13 & 14 (Wed & Thurs) 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

A two day Service Project will be held at the Florida Park Service Collections Building located at 3705 Doris Drive, Tallahassee, Fla.

The Florida Park Service is fortunate to have records dating back to our humble beginnings; drawings, photos and records from the 1930s to present.  We will have the opportunity to see this impressive collection and provide assistance with inventorying the collections.  It's sort of like going through your family scrapbook, only bigger.

August 15 (Friday) 10:00 am to noon

Field trip to the Florida State Archives located in the R.A. Gray Building at 500 South Bronough Street, Tallahassee. We will receive a guided tour of the State Library and learn about the collection of documents relating to Florida's history.  Of special interest to some of you we will learn about the Florida Memory , a web based digitized collection of over 320,000 photos & documents.

August 16 (Saturday) 11:00 am to 2:00 pm or just drop in

Luncheon at Maclay Gardens State Park in the Gardeners Cottage (air conditioned). Bring your own lunch, beverages and desserts will be provided. This is an opportunity for our local FPS family and those traveling from afar to gather, visit and swap stories. We hope you will join us.  And reach out to others who may not be aware of this reunion.

Join us for Fun & Fellowship!

Lake Louisa TrailsThe Florida Park Service Ranger Association will gather at Stephen Foster State Park in White Springs for our 37th Annual Gathering. We encourage everyone to reach out to folks who haven’t attended a gathering in a while and to reconnect with their FPS family.  Our General Business meeting will discuss the status of the Association and the plans we have for the coming year. We are excited to host the fourth Park Ranger of the Year award presentation and look forward to hosting the district awardees.

The Arnold Kuenzler & Family Auction, started in the 1990s, is named for Arnold, Aggie & Kim who donated countless hand-crafted objects through the years. Hand-crafted objects and collectibles are still donated each year and serve as one of the major fundraisers for the Ranger Association’s James A. Cook Humanitarian Relief Fund which directly benefits past and present FPS staff.  The Auction also serves as great entertainment. Arnold served as our entertaining Auctioneer for many years and the tradition continues with today's Auctioneers generating a lot of laughs.

You don’t have to be a member to attend but once you see what good deeds the organization performs you will want to join.
